The 18-year-old accused of going for a sheriff’s deputy’s gun is facing several charges including attempt to disarm a peace officer.

He was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Rochester Hills.
Police say the incident occured Tuesday afternoon at Oxford High School in Oxford Township.
Garett Brodeur’s attorney says he has post psychogenic non-epileptic seizure disorder. He says people with the disorder look like they’re having an epileptic seizure, but it’s not epilepsy. After they come out of the seizure they’re in a sleepwalking sate.
They’re frustrated, agitated and sometimes angry.
Brodeur’s family says he was diagnosed three years ago. His mother says he is a straight “A” student and all-around athlete. Things started happening after he received two concussions from basketball.
In March he fell, this time it was down the stairs.
“My 10-year-old daughter called and was in tears. It was at 35 blackouts by the time she called us, by the time we got home it was over 70,” his mother Staci Brodeur says.
Staci says doctors have not been able to figure out what triggers the blackouts or provide any medication that helps.
They were trying to get him help from a special clinic that would be able to provide better testing.
Broduer’s bond was set at $7,500.
