Police investigating after stranger danger incident in Farmington Hills

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Farmington Hills police are investigating a stranger danger incident that occurred on June 5.

Police say a suspicious person approached a child at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the area of Rensselaer and Emmett Streets, in a subdivision near Inkster Road between Shiawassee Road and Eight Mile Road.

A child was reportedly walking in the area when a man driving a black sedan, possible a Chevy Impala, stopped and asked the child if they wanted a ride. Police say the child walked away and notified two adults in the area. The man then drove away.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was described as a man in his 50s, wearing glasses, balding with gray hair and a gray goatee and mustache. He was also reportedly speaking broken English.

Detectives have been actively investigating this report and patrol officers have been conducting increased patrols in the area.
