TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 19--year-old Detroit man is charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Larceny in a Building in connection with an incident at the Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse.

Davion Darrel Mitchell was arrested on August 10 at around 9:45 p.m.

Police say he had been in the building with three children who were attempting to sell candy to customers. The kids, aged 9 and 10-years-old, had been telling customers it was for football.

Officers were called to the scene after management confronted Mitchell and the children. They had agreed to leave the building, but went into the bathroom first.

While they were in the bathroom, the hostess discovered her purse was missing. An employee also noticed suspicious activity in one of the bathroom stalls. The Children were standing outside of the stall at the time.

Mitchell left the bathroom quickly and, police say, the hostess's purse was found inside. Police say $40 was missing.

When police arrived on the scene, Mitcell was found nearby and taken into custody.

Officers say the kids told them they were not selling the candy for money. Instead, officiers say, the kids told them any money raised was given to Mitchell who then paid them to sell the candy.
