A real estate agent claims she was robbed while showing a home in Birmingham today.
Right now police are investigating the situation.
The realtor told police she was showing a home when she says she was robbed by a masked man in the basement.
She called police before 1:00 this afternoon and told them the suspect robbed her while she was taking pictures in the home's basement.
We talked with the next-door neighbor of the home. She said police told her the victim said the man was armed with a gun and tried to shut her in a closet of the basement.
Because of this police activity three local schools were put on lockdown. Beverly, Greenfield and Pierce elementary schools were locked down for several hours while police investigated.
There is no threat to the area now.
The next-door neighbor says there is some concern and skepticism that the robbery actually happened.
Police are still investigating this incident, as if it did indeed happen at this point.
