Some Milford Township residents are concerned after a developer purposes to build nearly 200 homes near wetlands.

Donald Green is the Township supervisor and says a known developer wants to build the homes on Milford Road just off of Olivia.

Beth Markell and her neighbors started a petition against that amount of homes being built.

She says the area already has traffic problems.

"That was a big concern to a lot of us, but this is important as the fact that a lot of this area is part of a conservation overlay so we have a lot of wetlands a lot of wildlife so it's important for us to protect the way it is," Markell says.

The developer says the change would benefit the Township.

"He's offering us a trail all the way around the project to tie into the sidewalk system of the village. It would be a walkable community to downtown," Green says.

Right now lots are supposed to be an acre and a half, but the developer wants to make them smaller.

The planning commission has asked the developer to bring a smaller plan with fewer homes.
