Anyone who loves fast cars and drag races will love 'Roadkill Nights.' It's an event leading up to the Woodward Dream Cruise.

You don't have to go far to enjoy drags races and drifting, legally, of course.

'Roadkill Nights' takes over M1 Concourse in Pontiac on August 12, kicking off the Woodward Dream Cruise.

If you've ever wanted to race down Woodward, all you have to do is register for your chance.

Tim Kuniskis is the Head of Passenger Car for FCA said, "Enjoy drag racing either in your own car on our closed strip in a safe environment or watch it. Watch some really fast cars from around the country."

This is the third annual family-friendly event.

Officials say M1 Concourse is the perfect place to show off fast cars drifting and doing burn outs.

For the first time, folks will watch the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in action.

It's being called the world's fastest muscle car.

"Adrenaline rush you get from this. You leave the starting line with this amazing force 1.8 g's. Front wheels are in the air and the car doesn't stop pulling until 140 miles an hour. Everything in the world just stops your mind goes blank and you're just concentrating on this feeling of this massive acceleration of this car that you are now controlling. There is nothing else like it in the world."

The August 12 "Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge" event is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Drag racing and Dodge Thrill rides will take place from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Roadkill Nights Registration Information:

General admission to the event is $10 per person — $5 per person for Pontiac residents ($5 price available on-site only). Children 12-years and under are free.
