A piece of art that had gone missing from a Royal Oak art gallery has been found.

It was awarded in one of the biggest art competitions in the world. But, according to the gallery's owners, scrappers thought it was junk.

Luckily, it was saved by a friend who brought it home after getting it from scrappers. The person then saw the news reports about the theft and came forward.

The gallery is a labor of love for Scott Anthony Myers, a sanctuary for art. But that safety and security was taken away on Saturday, only one week after the grand opening of the Live Edge Artisan Gallery in Royal Oak.

That's when the motorcycle sculpture, weighing nearly 300 pounds and five feet tall, was taken.

The only thing left from the heist was the letter "E".

The news of the theft made the rounds across social media, with thousands getting involved.

The Myers renovated the area inside this garage on Fernlee. It took about 100 days of hard work to be able to show off their handcrafted furniture and the art of others.
