On Thursday, September 1st, the South Lyon VFW Post 1224 and the South Lyon Community Schools will be dedicating the Lance Corporal Dominic Ciaramitaro USMC Athletic Complex.

The newly renovated complex at South Lyon High School has been named for Ciaramitaro, a former student, who served in Operation Enduring Freedom. He died in combat in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan on April 23, 2011.

Officials in South Lyon say naming of the complex pays tribute to Ciaramitaro's military service and ultimate sacrifice for our country. Students and the community are encouraged to attend and honor our "hometown hero" by dressing in patriotic colors of red, white, and blue for this game.

The dedication service will precede the first home football game of the year (against Howell). The ceremony will begin at 6:40 pm.  Highlights will include the South Lyon High School Band which playing the National Anthem, Taps, and the Marine Corps hymn at various points in the ceremony.
