A formerly homeless army veteran and his family have gotten the surprise of their life.

They moved into a house about a year ago, but couldn't afford furniture. Two organizations helped give them a home makover.

Veteran Joel Trombley said, "It's amazing. I couldn't dream any of this. It's a dream come true."

Trombley, his three children and pregnant girlfriend, Morgan Pettinaro, didn't have a lot of furniture until today. The kids shared a bed while the couple slept of the floor.

Morgan said, "There was nothing here. It was pretty empty."

"Things have been difficult for us," Joel added. "Now we have things that are ours. We have a home that's ours."

Emma, Noah and Tristen all love their new room that's also furnished with new toys.

All this comes with the help of a donation from Bank of America and Humble Design.

Rita Oldani of Bank of America said, "This was a wonderful day for us to volunteer and help build his home."

"We sent them away for a little whilem so they can be surprised when they came home and the reaction on their faces was priceless," explained Treger Strasberg, the founder of Humble Design.

Morgan and Joel are expecting a baby boy in March, so Humble Design also created a nursery.

Treger added, "Just to get that crib in there makes it real and maybe she can have a good night's sleep tonight."
