After getting a tip from a concerned citizen, the driver suspected in the fatal hit-and-run in Rochester Hills has been located by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Christopher Morgan, 22, was found on the side of the road along Avon Road near Adams Sunday morning.

"He looked like he was asleep," said Dave Jensen who saw Christopher's mother and father shortly after they found their son's body in the ditch. "It's tragic."

Jensen lives nearby and says he saw Christopher's dad try to resuscitate his son, but he was already gone.

Investigators began trying to find the suspected hit and run driver and urged the public to call them with any information. And they got the tip they needed.

Deputies responded to the Red Roof Inn in Orion Township, where they found a black Ford Fusion with substantial damage to the front right side. The owner of the car told authorities that she dropped off a friend in Rochester Hills Saturday night and thought she hit a deer near Avon and Adams.

Investigators are submitting that information to prosecutors. The woman is not in custody at this time.

Morgan attended a graduation party Saturday night. He left the party in a vehicle with his girlfriend, brother and another acquaintance. He reportedly got into an argument with his girlfriend and decided to get out of the car and walk home.

Deputies say the victim's parents went looking for him on Sunday morning around 11:30 a.m. and found his body in a ditch with obvious signs of trauma.

An autopsy is scheduled.
