YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Seven-year-old Braylen was left on a Lincoln Consolidated School bus for some two hours Monday morning.

The discovery wasn’t made until his mother, Tiera Hutson, went to his school with his backpack and she was told her son was not in class. She says she was traumatized.

Braylen is okay. He occupied himself from about 8 a.m. until about 10 a.m. without wandering off. The bus was parked inside the fenced-in bus lot.

Superintendent Sean McNatt apologizes and says they are conducting an investigation. That will include looking at surveillance cameras installed inside their school buses.

The district has a policy of bus drivers doing two walkthroughs on the bus to make sure no child is left behind. However, that didn’t happen in this case.

McNatt says there will be disciplinary action taken and additional training for drivers to carry out the policy.
