ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 33-year-old Ann Arbor man is being held in connection with the death of his own father after a family fight in their home Saturday night.

Police say the wife and mother and the son both called 911 to report the fight in progress.

“The mother was the initial 911 caller. She actually left the house in her call, during the assault, to call 911,” says Lt. Aimee Metzer.

The son called minutes later.

“He stated that his father was yelling at he and his mother and he couldn’t take it anymore and he began to assault him,” says Metzer.

The father is Dr. Michael Krause, a longtime Ann Arbor dentist with an office near downtown. It was closed today.

The autopsy conducted this morning shows blunt force trauma to the head with severe head, neck and facial injuries.

Police say no weapons were used, apparently just the son’s hands.

Police had one previous call to this house for another family fight 12 years ago.

This weekend, the mother was not injured. She was home this afternoon and declined to talk with us.

She gave police some information on Saturday night, before another family member and a defense attorney got involved.

Police say there is some indication both men had been drinking.

The son is set be arraigned in front of a Judge Tuesday afternoon.
