ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - A boil water alert has been issued for the northeast side of Ann Arbor.
The advisory was issued after a loss of water pressure due to scheduled valve maintenance in the area.
A boil water advisory is necessary whenever there is a loss of water pressure. It is a precautionary measure.
Areas affected include; south of Green Court, north of the Huron River, east of Huron Parkway and west of US-23.
Residents are asked to boil water used for drinking or cooking until further notice.
Water may be discolored and can cause discoloration of laundry.
The city says tests are being conducted and the boil water advisory will be lifted when safe results have been obtained.
There is no indication there there has been any contamination.
