She is the furry kitten that stole our hearts.

After "Lucky Seven" crashed a morning live shot with WXYZ reporter Nima Shaffe, she is now in the loving hands of workers at the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

"She was examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, treated for worms and parasites," Tanya Hilgendorf told our Nima Shaffe.

Tanya is the president and chief executive officer of the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

"She is now headed to foster care where she will get some extra TLC while she grows a little more. Then she will be spayed, given a microchip ID, and made available to be adopted by a loving family," she said.

Including the kitten in the morning newscast started as an idea from WXYZ-TV photojournalist Andy Zaremba and Executive Producer Chris Pantaleo. The video quickly turned into a viral sensation.

"I want to Thank you, Nima, and Channel 7 Action News for your compassion," Hilgendorf said. "Saving homeless animals takes a little from everyone. Starting with someone noticing an animal in need and then taking action."

Hilgendorf says they are in the midst of what they call "kitten season" and Lucky Seven is one of over a thousand they rescue and will treat and find homes for this season.

As little as she is, Hilgendorf says somehow she kept herself safe long enough to be rescued.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley is not affiliate with any other Humane Society. Those interested in helping little ones like Lucky Seven can visit the shelter's website here.
