Canton police say alcohol may have been a factor in a head-on collision on Michigan Ave. Friday night.

According to police, the accident happened on eastbound Michigan Ave. between Lilley Rd. and Sheldon Rd. just before 11 p.m.

A 30-year-old Lincoln Park resident driving a Chevy Silverado was driving west on Michigan Ave. in the eastbound lanes when he collided with a Toyota Camry driven by a 23-year-old resident from Westchester, Ohio. The Camry was going east on Michigan Ave. in the eastbound lanes.

According to police, the drivers and passengers in both vehicles were taken to St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti and are listed in critical condition.

Right now, police are still investigating the accident and say they believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
