Two Taylor men have been arrested in connection with the suspected homicide of Michael Lee Stafford, 38, of River Rouge.

Stafford had been missing since May 7th. His family last saw his motorcycle at a home on Brian Street in Taylor over a week ago.

Taylor police say that one of the men in custody has confessed, saying that Stafford was shot inside of the home where the motorcycle was last seen. The 41-year-old Taylor suspect turned himself in Saturday.

The suspect told police that Stafford’s body was dumped in Ypsilanti.

Taylor police and Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department recovered a body in an Ypsilanti field. It is believed that the body is Stafford’s, but they are still awaiting positive identification.

The two men remain in custody. The defendants’ family has been cooperating in the investigation. The case is expected to be presented to the Wayne County’s Prosecutor’s office on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016.
