Charges against two men charged accused of carrying out the sexual assault, kidnapping and unarmed robbery of a Highland Park woman have been dropped.

Aaron Stewart and Quinton Flemons faced a judge on Tuesday in 30th district court, where a preliminary hearing was short lived.

Both men were relieved of charges including criminal sexual misconduct and un-armed robbery.

Stewart and Flemons were alleged to have pulled a 31-year old woman off her bike in Highland Park -- forcing her into an alley, sexually assaulting--- then robbing her.

On Tuesday, the Wayne county prosecutor’s office said they were unable to proceed with a preliminary examination leading to a case dismissal, declining to explain any further detail.

However the judge did dismiss the case without prejudice, which means if more evidence emerges or more witnesses come forward, the defendants can be re-charged.

Meanwhile, they are still on the hook for two other serial crimes -- one in Hamtramck on October 8th in which a woman was allegedly tied up, then assaulted and robbed.

Another happened on September 30th with a woman allegedly abducted, thrown into a van, and ultimately raped.

After the hearing, Stewart and Flemons were sent back to county jail to face the charges related to the Detroit and Hamtramck incidents.

There's no word yet on when the next trial is set to begin.
