DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) — Dearborn police continue to search for two men who brutally murdered a 29-year-old woman Friday night. Police believe the suspects were in the midst of an armed robbery crime spree.

Monday, Saja Al-janabi was laid to rest surrounded by family and friends at Maple Grove Cemetery in Westland. Her family and friends are still wondering who robbed her of time here on earth - and why.

Heartbroken, they cried out to God at the grave site with a prayer central to the Muslim faith: “La Ilaha Illa Allah”

The literal translation means “There is no God other than God,” but at Saja’s funeral the meaning is deeper.

Saja Al-Janabi’s closest family members carried her casket through the cemetery, emotionally repeating the prayer. With every step, they prayed for God’s mercy, acknowledging that their daughter, their sister, their friend is in God’s hands now, as she always has been. She is no longer with them.

“She was fun, kind," said Saja's younger brother Ali Al-janabi. "She makes sure everybody is OK before she goes to sleep."

“Even if you’re a stranger,” he added. “If you ask her for help, she’s gonna help you.”

Friday night she was brutally shot and killed on Bingham near Morross in Dearborn by two men police say robbed at least two other people in the area at gun point. She was visiting family. Her last breaths were in her younger brother's arms.

“She was a really important person to me and my family," Ali said. "I don’t know how I’ll ever repay everything she’s done. It really hurts."

As family and friends lay her to rest, praying for peace, they also pray Saja’s murderers are found.

They are described as one short man wearing a white mask and black clothes and a tall man wearing black clothes. Police believe they were driving a white sedan at the time.
