Romulus Police say 37-year-old David Radecki, a former US Customs and Border Protection officer, molested a child nearly five months ago.
They started investigating the allegations when they first surfaced in October of 2016.
The victim told police he had been touched inappropriately several times by Radecki.
We're told the 37-year-old also served as a Boy Scouts Troop leader.
When 7 Action News went to his house, a woman answered the door, and at first told us, " No comment."
She acknowledged the charges, adding, "The less I know, the better."
The woman says Radecki was not home and, "not allowed to be there."
He facing several charges including, criminal sexual conduct second degree and accosting a child for immoral purpose.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a short statement saying, "“U.S. Customs and Border Protection is aware of an alleged incident involving one of our officers. We are unable to provide any additional comments regarding this matter at this time.”
He's due back in court on March 10 at 8:00 a.m. for a preliminary exam.
Radecki is on a tether after posting bond.
The Boy Scouts of America has released the following statement:
The behavior included in these allegations is abhorrent and runs counter to everything for which the Boy Scouts of America stands. Upon learning of these allegations we took action to preclude this individual from any further participation in the Scouting program.
The safety of our youth members is of paramount importance and we seek to prevent child abuse through a comprehensive program of education on the subject, the chartered organization leader selection process, criminal background and other checks, policies and procedures to serve as barriers to abuse and the prompt mandatory reporting of any allegation or suspicion of abuse.
