Inkster Police investigating 13th murder this year, city has already surpassed 2012 total

INKSTER, Mich. (WXYZ) - Inkster police say they are investigating the city's 13th homicide this year, surpassing the total of 12 murders for all of 2012.

Officers say 28-year-old Anthony Wilson was found at around 9:40 pm at the Heatherwood Apartments. Wilson, who was in a wheelchair from a motorcycle accident about  a month ago, had been shot several times. 

He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Wilson is the sixth person to be shot in Inkster in the last week. Four people were shot on July 25. Another person was shot on July 27th.

However, police say the July 27th incident was an accident the occurred when a group of people were playing with a 20-gauge shotgun.
