(WXYZ) - Officials with the US Marshals office say they have tracked down and arrested a man who was able to escape from the Wayne County Jail last month by impersonating another inmate.
Rocky Marquez was taken into custody in Hermosillo, Mexico Tuesday evening. His girlfriend's mother, Catherine Cano, was also taken into custody.
Marquez is being transported back to Arizona, where he was arrested in 2010 after fleeing from the scene of a drunk driving accident. He was also facing federal charges including conspiracy to launder money and intent to distribute cocaine.
Police say Marquez was also able to escape from Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix, Arizona using the identity of another inmate in May. He was being held at the Wayne County Jail awaiting extradition back to Phoenix when he escaped again.
Cano is being returned to Michigan. She is expected to be charged with aiding in an escape.
