LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Livonia woman got quite the scare when her home surveillance camera caught a man lurking outside, looking into her bedroom window just before 11 p.m. Monday.

"I was terrified," said Carol who asked that we not show her face or use her last name. "I jumped and called for my brother."

Carol's brother Kenny came running from the rear of the house and she said that's when it appears the stranger outside took off running across the lawn and down the street.

Carol said some of the windows were open to get some fresh air in and she believes the man was looking for an opportunity to break in.

The man never knocked on the door.

Carol didn't even purchase the Blink camera system for security. She installed a number of cameras to keep an eye out for a couple of feral cats she's been caring for.

Livonia police were called, and Tuesday they said they are investigating and hoping someone can identify the man caught on video so they can talk to him.

Anyone with information is urged to call Livonia police.

Carol said she will no longer leave windows open after dark. "It's just kind of terrifying which way this could have gone," she said.
