Grosse Pointe Woods police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with the abduction of a child.

It happened around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a newer model black Cadillac Escalade cut off a child riding his bike home on Roslyn at Marter. The man jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to grab the child by his arm.

The attempt to grab him failed and the child took off. Police say after a short run pursuing the child, the man went back to the vehicle and left eastbound on Roslyn.

Police describe the suspect as a clean-shaven, heavy-set white man in his 30s wearing an orange baseball cap with a black letter, navy blue shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspect or who sees a vehicle matching the above description should contact police at (313) 343-2410.
