Police search for man who tied up, robbed metro Detroit woman in her own home

Dearborn Heights police are searching for a man who tied up and robbed a woman inside her own home.

Surveillance video shows the man behind a frightening and robbery. It also shows him coming and going from the scene.

It also shows a gray or silver colored Dodge Durango pulling in front of a home just before noon Wednesday.

An unknown man gets out and casually walks into a home with an unlocked front door.

Once inside he grabbed a woman nearly 70-years-old by the throat and demanded cash.

Stealing a cell phone and less than $100 in cash, the intruder then ties up his victim inside her home near the area of Van Buren and Colonial.

From there he appears to calmly head back to his SUV and leave the area, as the victim somehow unties herself and calls 911.

Word of the terrible attack and robbery spread quickly through the area, leaving neighbors in fear.

as for the victim, after decades in this community police say she's looking to move out - the traumatic and scary crime something she'd rather forget.

Police describe the suspect as African American, 5"9 to 6 feet tall, in his 30s with a lazy left eye, last seen wearing a Detroit Tigers T-shirt and dark pants.

He was last seen heading towards Telegraph and Joy Rd. If you have any information call police right away.
