Two rival high schools are competing for the better good in what is the second annual Battle Against Hunger.

Dearborn High School and Fordson High School will compete to get the most donated canned goods.

Dearborn is looking for payback this year after losing to Fordson. Last year, Fordson donated 23,000 cans while Dearborn brought in 17,000 cans.

“We are ready to beat Fordson this year,” said Dearborn High Class of 2017 president Hussein Bazzi. “Losing to Fordson last year will drive us to donate more.”

Gleaners will send boxes to the school to collect goods during the week of the game, and students can also donate money. $1 is equal to four cans of food.

During halftime of the big football game between the two schools, the winning school will be announced.
