Police investigate stranger danger in Northville

Northville police are investigating a stranger danger incident that happened in the city on Friday afternoon.

According to police, a 10-year-old boy from Amerman Elementary School was walking home in the area of 8 Mile Rd. and Center St. when he was approached by a man in a vehicle.

The man said he would give the boy a ride home, but he replied no thank you and hid behind a nearby house. Police say he watched the man leave the area before he returned home without further incident.

The student described the driver as a man of Indian descent, about 35-40 years old with a slight accident. The student said the man had dark, mullet type hair.

The vehicle was described as a black, four-door sedan with tinted rear passenger windows and silver on the grill. The student said it may have been a Volkswagen.

According to police, no other students were reported to be in the area at the time. Anyone with information is asked to call Northville police at 248-349-1234.
