Westland police have arrested a teen in connection to the purse snatching of an 83-year-old woman last month.
According to police, the theft happened on Dec. 9 in the Value World parking lot on Central City Parkway. As the woman was getting out of her vehicle, the suspect grabbed her purse and ran away from the scene.
Officers investigating obtained surveillance video that showed the suspect getting into a nearby vehicle and taking off.
Detectives found the woman's credit card had been used in multiple cities, and that led them to the arrest of a 16-year-old who stole the purse and 18-year-old Brent Gray who was driving the car.
Both were arrested and Gray was arraigned on four charges included unarmed robbery.
