The Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness confirmed a case of Hepatitis A in a service worker at Token Lounge on Joy Road in Westland.

The facility is currently open and is working with the department during the investigation. Health department staff will be offering Hepatitis A vaccinations to employees.

Officials are advising people who consumed beverages from the lounge between Nov. 20 and Dec. 4 to watch for Hepatitis A symptoms, including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dark urine, clay-colored stool, fever, chills and yellow skin and eyes.

Symptoms occur between 15 and 50 days after exposure.

Wayne County health urges all residents to get vaccinated for Hepatitis A. Individuals should consult with their physician to determine if they should receive the vaccine through their provider.

If you do not have insurance coverage, the vaccine is available at the Wayne County Health Department Clinic, located at 33030 Van Born Road in Wayne.
