Dennis Patterson, 50, is accused of inappropriately touching three female employees at the Wayne County Treasurer's Office where Patterson has worked for 16 years as a mail clerk.

Patterson has been charged with three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct (4th Degree).

Prosecutors say when Patterson allegedly touched female employees in September 2015 and April 2016, both women reported the incident to their supervisors.

What's unclear is what action, if any, was taken by anyone in the Treasurer's office.

Prosecutors say it wasn't until a similar incident was reported by a third female employee in June that an investigation began, and investigators learned of the two prior incidents. Two days later is when Patterson left his job.

It's unclear if Patterson was fired or allowed to resign.

7 Action News has asked Deputy Treasurer - Land Management Kim Homan for information on how the two prior incidents were handled. No one from the Treasurer's office has responded.

In the 1990's, Patterson was also convicted of 4th Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, according to court records.
