ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. — Nine Rochester Hills schools received a total of $16,000 green grants through the Recyclebank Green Schools Program.
Recyclebank Green Schools Program allows schools to educate and motivate students to "promote a more sustainable and greener lifestyle."
“The best part of my job is witnessing the passion students have for the environment," says Recyclebank’s CEO Paul Winn. "They are approaching sustainability in innovative ways and creating projects that make the world greener for themselves and future generations. We hope the Green Schools Program encourages youth to continue learning about the environment and caring for our planet.”
Since 2011, Rochester Hills schools have participated in Recyclebank's Green Schools Program and have been partners. All together, Recyclebank has awarded Rochester Hills schools over $109,300 in grants for the Green Schools Projects.
This year, all of the schools have achieved their donation goal.
“As always, I am proud of both our residents and schools for their contribution to creating a greener society here in Rochester Hills," says Mayor Bryan K. Barnett, "This program benefits our schools, students, and generations to come, but none of it would have been possible without the donations of our resident's Recyclebank points. Rochester Hills continues to be Michigan’s recycling leader!"

Long Meadow Elementary - Media Center Makerspace
McGregor Elementary - Soil Restoration Project
Van Hoosen Middle School - Water bottle refill station
Upland Hills School - School kitchen and curriculum surrounding sustainable farming
Rochester Adams High School - Cafeteria Recycling Containers
Rochester High School - Permanent Hallway and Common Space Recycling Bins
Stoney Creek High School - Goodbye Plastic Water Bottles
