ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) — It was a packed house inside Royal Oak City Hal Monday evening. Residents say the current commission is spending way too much money, and in the end it’s going to hurt the taxpayer. One of their biggest concerns is this new parking structure.
Many issues were talked about, but most were concerned about contracts and a change order on the new parking structure residents say is costing too much. Residents say the city is spending money it simply doesn't have.
City commissioners listened to their constituents, and wondered about a change order for the parking deck.
Contractors say they are on schedule for completion of the new parking structure, and say they are roughly $200,000 below budget. As for other developments popping up around the cit, residents say it’s too much too fast.
