Facebook upgrade brings users restaurant reservations

(WXYZ) - Right now you probably only visit a restaurant's Facebook page to flip through photos or browse the menu but next time you do so, you'll be able to make a reservation for two.

Technology site, Mashable reports OpenTable and Facebook have teamed up to bring you this new feature and you may be able to use it as early as this week.

If you aren't familiar with it, OpenTable is an app that allows you to make reservations at over 20,000 North American restaurants.

Together, OpenTable and Facebook will roll out the new feature on mobile devices first which will allow you to use your phone's GPS to locate the nearest restaurant serving up the foods you're craving.

The user-friendly update will allow you to find a seat at your favorite diner or five-star chop house without leaving the restaurant's Facebook page. This means no signing into or signing up for any other service.

Separately, OpenTable is reportedly testing an app that will allow diners to pay with just the push of a button so you'll no longer have to wait for the check.

Which we all know can be especially tough once food coma sets in.
