(WXYZ) — Little kids can make a big difference in the world!

Second-grader Lillia Carter is improving her reading skills while helping other children do the same in a very unique way.

Andrea Isom had a virtual chat with her about her super cool book club where new members are always welcome.

Eight-year-old Lillia Carter is the brains behind a "Lillia's Little Readers" book club on Facebook that has not only helped with her reading skills but is helping others.

“I like reading because it’s fun to do,” Lillia says.

Lillia has improved three reading levels after previous struggles from a speech delay that affected her until the age of five.

With time, persistence, the Michigan Great Lakes Academy, and her book club it was the perfect recipe for progress. Lillia also had support from family, teachers and friends.

One of the best parts for Lillia is she gets to share with other little readers on social media.

When asked what she would tell other kids who are having a hard time learning how to read Lillia responded “I tell them to try your best and keep practicing.”

Excellent advice!
