A secretary from the White Lake Township Police Department jumped into action when she saw a bird get hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.
The woman rushed to save a hawk hit by a vehicle on M-59. STAR EMS, an emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in Oakland County, also witnessed the accident and sprang into action.
The ambulance transported the injured hawk to a local veterinarian.
Officials say the bird will be released back into wildlife later today.
