SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Shelby Township firefighters are asking residents to adopt a fire hydrant during the snow this winter.
With snow on its way this weekend, the department says it needs your help to maintain access to the hydrants in an emergency.
Their Facebook post read: "Seconds matter in the event of a house fire and a hydrant clear of obstructions will cut down the time it takes for our firefighters to get water to their trucks."
