Is your Thanksgiving meal ready to go or do you still have to get the turkey?

If you are a last minute grocery shopper, you are not alone.

"Oh I got to get my turkey! That's the most important part," says Laura Kelle.

Laura says she is a pro when it comes to last-minute grocery shopping! She always waits until the day before to get everything she needs.

"Stuff to make stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, and stuff to eat after Thanksgiving," she says.

The rush to get gravy puts the Holiday Market in Royal Oak on the "gravy train."

Tom Violante is the founder of Holiday Market. He joked, "If we don't make any money today, we are in trouble!"

The store sells more than a thousand turkeys on the eve of Thanksgiving, so they're ready for customers and employees to run circles around the store.

"We've done this for 63 years, so we have ample staff, ample turkeys and everything is going great," Tom adds.

Gaye Tischler already did her shopping and only needed to pick up dessert. She chuckles at last-minute shoppers.

"I think it's amusing," she explained. "I'm glad I'm not one of them. I got here early because I can't deal with the high anxiety of last minute shopping."

If you are waiting last minute to get groceries, the Holiday Market will be open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving. If you need to get a turkey, they will also sell cooked ones.
