Pontiac Trail has reopened after Hazmat crews determined air quality was fine following a smoke plume coming from the Korex Corporation plant in Wixom Monday morning.

Police Lt. Ron Moore says they got the call of a smoke alarm at the plant around 2:20 a.m.

The fire department responded and figured out the source of the plume. Firefighters and Hazmat officials have determined there is no danger to the public, according to a news release.

According to their website, the Korex plant, located at 50000 Pontiac Trail, makes laundry detergent, dish washing soap and other household cleaners for companies like Clorox, Tide and Cascade.
