DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History announced Wednesday it has canceled tours for Saturday and Sunday, as well as an event that was scheduled for Sunday.

The museum tweeted out the cancellations citing concern over the spread of COVID-19, commonly known as coronavirus.

Tours will go on as normal on Thursday and Friday. External rental events scheduled for Saturday will also go on as planned, the museum said.

As a precaution, museum workers have placed hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes at the museum's entry and exit points. All handrails, doorknobs and handles are constantly being wiped down to deter potential spread of the virus.
