ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A St. Clair Shores police officer is being evaluated for a possible concussion after a suspected intoxicated driver hit the officer's cruiser early Sunday in Roseville.

According to Michigan State Police, the officer was responding to a vehicle crash on westbound I-94 at Little Mack Avenue at 3:10 a.m. The officer's cruiser was blocking the right and center lane of westbound I-94 when the suspected impaired driver, a 34-year-old man, hit the parked police car.

Police say the at-fault driver is in serious but stable condition at a hospital. The officer is being kept overnight at a hospital to be evaluated for a possible concussion.

The investigation is ongoing.
