Investigation of metro Detroit Stranger Danger reveals false alarm

Grosse Pointe Woods police say they're investigation into a reported Stranger Danger has revealed it was a false alarm.

According to police, it happened about 7:55 a.m. on Allard Ave. between Harper and Arthur.

Police say a black female, about 40 years old, approached a 10-year-old Tyrone Elementary School student driving a white minivan with rust on the bottom and tinted windows.

The woman drove alongside the boy, who was walking alone, and said "I'll give you a ride to school. Come on get in!" The boy then told her no, but she kept trying to get him into the van before driving away.

Police say their investigating revealed the woman was a concerned parent. 

School employees tell 7 Action News they are revealed the child was never in danger.
