DETROIT (WXYZ) — Listen up Michigan drivers!
With gas prices on the rise in recent weeks, a GasBuddy study revealed the best and worst days to buy gas by state.
In 30 states -- including Michigan -- Monday yielded the cheapest prices at the pump. While Saturday proved to be the most expensive day to buy gas in 16 states, the worst day for Michiganders is Thursday.
GasBuddy analyzed gas price data from the period of January - March 2019 and found that the first day of the work week offers the lowest average gas price in 30 states, making it the best day to fill-up. While Saturday is the worst day to buy gas in 16 states, Friday has the most expensive average price of any other day of the week.
If your looking to avoid long lines, try to get to the pump on Monday or Tuesday between 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Monday was also the best day to buy gas in 2018 and 2017, according to GasBuddy’s previous study.
