"I was terrified," says a local 21 year-old woman who was held at gunpoint by a robber inside a Ferndale 7-Eleven where she worked.

It happened around 2 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on 9 Mile Road and Pinecrest.

Surveillance video shows someone wearing a mask and dressed in all black, walk into the store with a handgun. You can see him point it at the clerk. He demanded that she hand over all the cash. She complied and then he also ordered her to hand over her car keys. He forced her inside a storage closet and told her to wait there.

With the gun pointed right at her, she says she tried to focus on staying calm. All she could think about was her daughter and staying alive.

"I'm a single mom. I had to live for her. She's only 3 years-old. I was just in shock, too. I immediately thought I was going to die. I thought he was going to shoot me," she says.

After she was forced into the closet, the gunman took off in her car. Four minutes later, the clerk heard the bell from the front door as it opened and closed. She felt safe enough to leave that closet. When she walked out, she saw customers inside. She was crying and shaking so she asked one of them to call 911.

The clerk's car was later found abandoned in Detroit near Cherrylawn and Norfolk. After the armed robbery, that clerk decided to quit her job at 7-Eleven and focus on the other job she has.

Ferndale Police are still looking for that gunman. If you have any information on who it is, please give them a call.
