(WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said a man is in custody after allegedly recording another man inside the bathroom at a Planet Fitness.
According to police, it happened at the gym on Lapeer Rd. in Orion Township. Deputies responded after a man was observed photographing another man inside the next bathroom stall.
The 18-year-old victim said he saw the suspect put him phone with the camera facing under the stall when he went to the bathroom. The victim then confronted the 22-year-old Sterling Heights man and called police.
Police arrived, took the phone and placed the suspect under arrest.
Deputies interviewed him, and said the man tried to record the other man for sexual gratification.
They also say similar incidents may have occurred and they are analyzing the phone to determine where and when.
