(WXYZ) — The FBI Detroit Division announced that a man was arrested in connection to a string of armed robberies at metro Detroit fast food restaurants last month.
One of the suspects, Moses Champion, was taken into custody, the FBI said.
According to a criminal complaint, it all started on Nov. 6 at a Taco Bell in Dearborn Heights on Telegraph Rd.
Video showed the suspect enter the store, point a handgun at the employee and demand the money. The employee emptied the cash register while a second suspect held the door.
Dearborn Heights police tracked the suspects and found multiple items, including a ski mask that identified Champion.
The criminal complaint said that on Dec. 15, the suspects also robbed a Taco Bell on Merriman Rd. in Livonia. They stole nearly $2,000.
Then, agents said on Dec. 21, the suspects, including Champion, robbed a Taco Bell in Independence Township on Sashabaw Rd. They stole about $1,800.
The suspects, agents say in the criminal complaint, were also responsible for armed robberies at a Taco Bell in Milford on Dec. 24, a Burger King in Auburn Hills on Dec. 27 and a Starbucks in Redford on Dec. 28.
On Jan. 28, FBI agents searched Champion's house and arrested him. During the search, they found several items of clothing that matched the description.
Champion also admitted that the gun he used in the robberies was now in a lake.
