A car dealership on Detroit’s west side is targeted by a would-be thief, but the man doesn’t steal anything.  He causes thousands of dollars with of damage and it’s all caught on camera.

It happened at Metro Auto Sales at 13741 W. Chicago around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The suspect broke in, found the key safe, and proceeded to attempt to steal cars from the lot, in the process, crashing and ramming into many of the cars parked very close together.

It appears he was going after one vehicle in particular.

"He was trying to get the Tahoe, he wanted that Tahoe,” said Alex Sobh, a co-manager at Metro Auto Sales.

The suspect wasn't able to get away with the Tahoe or any property, but he did cause about $30,000 worth of damage.

"For somebody to come here and just damage our property for not even to take anything and just destruction and damage it's appalling,” said Alex Biaz, co-manager of Metro Auto Sales.

If you have information about who this suspect is, call Detroit Police, (313) 596-5200.
