Suspect wanted in attempted sex assault of woman on track at Chippewa Valley

Clinton Township police are asking for the public's help to locate a suspect in an attempted sexual assault of a woman on Sunday morning.

According to police, a 34-year-old woman was running on the track at Chippewa Valley High School around 8:35 a.m. when she as approached by a man.

Police say the suspect then pushed the woman onto the ground and tried to sexually assault her. She struggled with the suspect and he fled the scene.

He is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 6-feet-3 with short, unkept afro-style hair.

The suspect was last seen fleeing in a 2001-2006 tow-tone silver Ford Escape with a dark-colored rubber trim on the entire bottom of the vehicle.
