(WXYZ) — Jessie Cross and her husband spent Valentine's Day celebrating the marriage of complete strangers, and now, they're raising money to buy the strangers an awesome gift.

Cross said she received a text message from a stranger with an invite to their wedding on Feb. 14.

"Tap in if you wanna view yo boi wedding," the text said.

Cross said she and her husband, Jason, marked it in their calendar for Valentine's Day at 10 p.m., as the wedding was in Las Vegas.

"We got dressed up fancy, poured ourselves a celebratory glass of brandy, and clicked the link," she said.

When she clicked in, she got the ceremony for Adrian Gibson and Lashaun Jones, whose ceremony is still posted on the Chapel of the Flowers website.

"We watched it on our 10-foot projector in our basement, lit candles, took pictures, and cheered them on like we would our best friends," Cross said. "It was such a good time."

Cross then reached out to the Facebook group Downriver & Friends about getting them a gift. The responses came pouring in, and that's when they decided to start a GoFundMe to get them what Cross said will be "an epic gift."

"I'm blown away by people's reactions," she said.

Cross said a friend of hers actually knows the couple, and she's hoping to connect with them soon.
