The Salvation Army Needs You to Ring Your Bell

SOUTHFIELD, MICH - As the Christmas Season approaches, many of us love to hear the bell ringing outside stores that remind us others can use a helping hand.

The Salvation Army is hoping you can be persuaded to be part of the 2013 Red Kettle Campaign.

There are about 450 locations around the metro area where you could volunteer to ring your bell and make a difference. Salvation Army  Major Mark Anderson says, ". "The need for food, shelter and assistance continues to grow throughout metro Detroit and it's with the support of volunteers that we're able to give hope to our neighbors in need each day."

The campaign gets underway Friday, November 8th and goes through Tuesday, December 24th.

All the money collected helps local families and those in need in the area in which the donations are received. The contributions are used to continue vital human services, food and shelter, for those who need it all year long.
