The White Stripes do not want their music to be associated with presidential candidate Donald Trump. That word came Tuesday afternoon in strongly worded Facebook posts from the Detroit-bred band and their record label.
"Regarding the use of 'Seven Nation Army' in a Donald Trump campaign video, The White Stripes would like to unequivocally state that they have nothing whatsoever to do with this video," read a short statement posted to both the band's Facebook page and the page of Third Man Records, the label founded by White Stripes frontman Jack White.
"They are disgusted by this association, and by the illegal use of their song," the posts said.
A Facebook video, posted in August and since removed, may have led to the posts. In a series of posts on YouTube, the video's creator says he also posted the video, titled "Trump Triumphant," to Vimeo and Live Leak, but those services have also since removed it.
We were able to find the 4-minute video in a tweet. It uses The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" as the soundtrack to a Trump speech, with video dubbed over top.

The video does not appear to be something created by Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
