(WXYZ) — From the Beat Goes On in Royal Oak to the Detroit Jazz Festival going virtual creative event producers are keeping the creative arts alive this Labor Day weekend.

“Here we are with 12 hours a day of continuous jazz programming coming from three custom-built sound stages, three-camera shoots on every stage high definition all the way,” says Chris Collins, Director of the Detroit Jazz Festival.

They will stream from the Marriott in the Renaissance Center and Collins says they are raising the bar on streaming festivals.

“And by the way all LIVE! These are not pre-recorded, these are not Zoom. These are all LIVE from our three soundstages and people will find this is an immersive experience,” says Collins.

Speaking of immersive, there are 25,000 acres of Metroparks to immerse yourself in here in Michigan.

Eastwood Beach at Stony Creek does get full fast. Kensington park also has beaches and a splash park. Lake St. Clair has a beach and a pool.

“We have it broken into sessions. Go to our website, pick your session and get there early to get your tickets because sometimes they sell out,” says Amy McMillon.

There are kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and character boats to rent, or you can bring an inner tube and float down the Huron River.

Golf Course tee times are filling fast, so book a time now if you want to take advantage.

“At Kensington Farm Center, we have a mama pig that is about to have piglets any day now so if you come to the farm you can see the squealing adorable piglets,” says McMillon.

Squealing music fans will have to do so from their cars in Royal Oak at the Beat Goes On drive-in concert. A unique way to experience live music in these very unique times.

Concerts are taking place all weekend long. It’s a $30 ticket price that will help support professional musicians who have been out of work. Along with a grant from Oakland County.

Art By Appointment is happening at the Royal Oak Farmer’s market so you can browse the art and meet the artists.
